Farrow & Ball 2.5L Exterior Eggshell Pelt No.254

Pelt is a rich, deep purple paint colour that brings a luxurious feel to any space. Unlike the warmer and more aubergine-coloured Brinjal, it has a great deal of blue in it, and can appear as something closer to black in spaces that receive little light. Try it in Full Gloss for an impactful and glamorous front door colour.

2.5 Litres of Pelt No.254 in Farrow & Ball Exterior Eggshell, the brand's low-sheen finish for exterior wood and metal, bringing a smooth, refined look to front doors, trims and garden structures. Formulated with UV and weather protection, it is flexible and water resistant, and when applied in line with Farrow & Ball's Product Advice Sheets it resists flaking, peeling and chalking for up to six years.

Where to use: exterior wood and metal, including front doors, trims, wooden cladding, fences and garden structures. Not recommended for pressure-treated or tanalised fences.

Preparation: prime exterior wood with Farrow & Ball Wood Primer & Undercoat and metal with Farrow & Ball Metal Primer & Undercoat, then apply two coats of Exterior Eggshell. Cast iron needs a specialist primer.

Coverage and drying: up to 13m² per litre per coat, so this 2.5 litre tin covers about 32m² per coat. Dry in 2 hours and recoat after 4 hours.
