The tongue-in-cheek name of this archived Farrow & Ball colour instantly conjures up its cheerful, warming tones. Far from the luminous shade you might expect, Fake Tan is actually a less orange version of its fellow Farrow & Ball Archive colour, Fowler Pink.

5 Litres of Fake Tan No.9912 in Farrow & Ball Modern Emulsion, the brand's super-tough matt finish for interior walls and ceilings. With a 7% sheen level, it is washable and wipeable, scuff and stain resistant and protected against mould, making it especially suited to kitchens, bathrooms and busy areas of the home.

Where to use: interior walls and ceilings, including moisture-prone kitchens and bathrooms. Not for use in shower enclosures or on surfaces in direct contact with water.

Coverage and drying: up to 12m² per litre per coat, so this 5 litre tin covers up to 60m² per coat. Two coats are recommended (darker or stronger colours may need more). Dry in 2 hours and recoat in 4 hours; allow longer in cool or humid conditions.
