Rust-Oleum 3333 Super Adhesive Primer is a water-based epoxy primer for smooth, dense surfaces, supplied as a complete kit of base and activator.
Why 3333
- Excellent adhesion on smooth and dense substrates
- Chemical bond without blasting or etching
- Very thin coat, so low material usage
- Can be recoated with practically all Rust-Oleum epoxy, polyurethane, chlorinated rubber/vinyl and acrylic coatings
- Water-based and low odour (VOC 8 g/l); equipment cleans with hot water and soap
- Class 1 surface spread of flame (BS 476 part 7: 1987)
Where to use it
On non-porous, dense mineral surfaces such as tiles and power-floated concrete; non-ferrous metals such as stainless steel, aluminium and new hot-dip galvanised steel; and thermosetting plastics such as GRP or epoxy.
Technical details
- Mixing ratio base : activator 0.72 : 0.28 by volume (kit supplied matched)
- Pot life 2 hours; touch dry 6 hours; recoat after 16 hours (20°C) and within 72 hours; fully cured 8 days
- Always dilute 20% with water for brush (disposable, mixed bristle) or HD foam roller; spray up to 20% water
- Apply very thin: not more than 25 µm wet (15 µm dry). Practical coverage 25–30 m²/litre
- Do not try to apply a hiding coat
- Apply at 10–35°C, humidity below 70%, surface 5°C above dew point
- Satin; heat resistant to 150°C dry heat
Preparation
Degrease with Rust-Oleum ND14 or by alkaline or high-pressure (steam) cleaning. New concrete should cure and dry for at least 30 days. The surface must be clean and may be slightly damp. Stir each component, then mix with a low-speed mixer or by boxing.
