Rust-Oleum 5090 Anti-Condensation Coating Pure White 5L

Rust-Oleum 5090 Anti-Condensation is a water-based, single-pack hygienic topcoat that helps stop condensation dripping from ceilings and walls.

How it works

The dried coating absorbs moisture during intermittent steam or water vapour: Rust-Oleum states 1 litre of product will, after drying, absorb at least 400 grams of water. Absorption is approved by Ceripec.

Where to use it

On ceilings and the upper parts of walls where intermittent steam or water vapour occurs, for example breweries, kitchens, wash rooms and shower rooms. Old coatings must be humidity resistant.

Technical details

• Intended for 1 coat by airless spray (tip 0.018–0.024", reverse tips, 130–200 bar); brush or roller in 2–3 coats gives a textured finish
• Recommended 1000 µm wet / 270 µm dry; theoretical coverage 1 m²/litre
• Touch dry 1 hour; handle 2 hours; recoat 5 hours; fully cured 3 days (20°C)
• Can be applied to slightly damp surfaces
• Thin up to 5% with water; clean up with water and soap
• Apply at 5–35°C, humidity below 85%, surface 5°C above dew point
• Matt; heat resistant to 50°C dry heat; VOC 57 g/l; keep from freezing

Preparation and care

New concrete or brick should cure and dry for at least 30 days; repair defects. Degrease, remove deteriorated coatings and sand sound coatings. To restore absorbency, clean the completely dry surface with cold water and liquid detergent at low pressure, then rinse with plenty of fresh water.
