Rust-Oleum 5800 Epoxy Rapid WB Light Grey Gloss 5L Kit

Rust-Oleum 5800 Epoxy Rapid WB is a rapid curing, water-based epoxy floor paint for indoor use, supplied as a complete 5 litre kit in light grey with gloss activator.

Where to use it

Inside, on garages, warehouses, showrooms, corridors, indoor car parks and workshops: on cleaned, sound mineral substrates and well-prepared previous coatings. If used outside, it must be finished with a polyurethane topcoat such as Rust-O-Thane 9200 (not a clear coat). On power-floated concrete, Rust-Oleum recommends 3366 primer.

Technical details

• Mixing ratio base : activator 2 : 3 by volume (kit supplied matched); pot life 2 hours
• Touch dry 2 hours; handle and recoat after 3 hours (within 5 days); fully cured 7 days (20°C)
• Theoretical coverage 6 m²/litre at 80 µm dry (167 µm wet)
• Medium pile simulated sheepskin roller, worked well into the surface; thin with water if needed; do not over-roll
• Apply at 10–30°C, humidity below 85%
• Clean up straight after use with warm soapy water; keep from freezing

Preparation

Concrete must be at least 30 days old, completely dry and free of laitance and poorly bonded coatings. Degrease; abrade or etch very smooth concrete with Surfa-Etch 108, wash down and let dry.
