Rust-Oleum 8300 Hygienic Wall Coating Pure White 5L

Rust-Oleum 8300 is a fast-drying, single-pack hygienic topcoat for walls in humid areas.

Key features

• Protects against mild chemical exposure, occasional spillage, humidity and moisture
• Can be applied at temperatures as low as −10°C
• Non-yellowing and resistant to frequent chemical cleaning
• Very fast drying and recoating
• Contains a biocide to protect the dried coating against fungal degradation
• Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame to BS 476 Part 7; gloss finish

Where to use it

On mineral substrates primed with Primer 8399, or on well-prepared previous coatings, where walls see mild chemical exposure, occasional spillage, frequent chemical cleaning and intermittent high humidity. Direct contact with oils, fats and greases can soften the coating.

Technical details

• Theoretical coverage 12 m²/litre at 35 µm dry (85 µm wet); max. 60 µm dry per coat
• Touch dry 2 hours, handle 4 hours, recoat 6 hours, fully cured 8 days at 20°C (touch dry 8 hours and recoat 24 hours at −10°C)
• Brush or 8–12 mm polyamide roller: up to 10% Thinner 633 above 5°C, 10–15% from −10 to 5°C; roller may need 2 coats
• Airless tip 0.011–0.017", 150–200 bar; thin as the data sheet directs
• Air, substrate and paint between −10 and 35°C, humidity below 85%, substrate 3°C above dew point and free from ice
• Heat resistant to 80°C dry; VOC 458 g/l; clean up with Thinner 160
