Rust-Oleum 9200 Rust-O-Thane in transparent: a two-pack, water-based satin polyurethane supplied as a complete 5 litre kit (4.25 litre base with 0.75 litre activator).

Where to use it
Inside and outside, over Rust-Oleum epoxy or acrylic coatings (for example 9100, 5401, Pegasol or Pegalink): coated floors, coated walls and primed metal, plus stairs, doors and kitchen walls. It resists solvents, moderate alkalis, weak acids and chemical cleaning. Not recommended for standing water or immersion.
Technical details
- Mixing ratio base : activator 5.66 : 1 by volume (kit supplied matched); induction 5 minutes; pot life 2 hours
- Touch dry 2 hours; handle 4 hours; recoat 24 hours; fully cured 2 days (20°C)
- Theoretical coverage 6.2 m²/litre at 60 µm dry on floors, 9.2 m²/litre at 40 µm on other surfaces (depending on colour)
- Brush, roller (8–12 mm polyamide) or airless, undiluted
- Apply at 5–35°C, humidity below 80%, surface 3°C above dew point
- Heat resistant to 90°C dry (discolouration possible above 65°C)
- Clean up with water and soap before drying; opened activator must be used within 1 week
Preparation
Degrease, sand sound coatings and make a test application to confirm compatibility. Remove poorly adhering coatings and spot-prime with recommended Rust-Oleum or Mathys coatings.
