Mathys Pegafix Universal is a colourless impregnating primer based on acrylic hydrosols, with a high fixing capacity.
Key features
- High fixing capacity for porous and chalking substrates
- Better penetration than Parafix and Porisol on low-porosity substrates, says Mathys
- Colourless; water-based with 0 g/l VOC
- Brush, roller, airless or air-atomised spray, undiluted
Where to use it
On porous and chalking substrates before painting with water-based paints. On chalking substrates, always test for fixing suitability first.
Technical details
- Theoretical coverage 5–10 m²/litre on very porous substrates (concrete, brick); 15–20 m²/litre on low-porosity substrates (plaster, porous interior paints)
- Touch dry 1 hour; handle 4 hours; recoat 2–4 hours; fully cured 24 hours (20°C)
- Airless nozzle 11–15 at 200 bar
- Apply above 5°C and below 90% humidity
- Clean up with water; remove dried spots (on windows, floors etc.) with Thinner 22
Preparation
Remove dust and clean carefully. Lightly sand blistering plaster, or test adhesion first.
