Rust-Oleum Metal Cladding PVDF Primer Grey 5L

Rust-Oleum PVDF Primer is a single-pack super adhesion primer for cladding, giving excellent adhesion on new or aged PVDF/PVF2 coated panels.

Technical details

• Brush or roller: do not dilute. Airless (nozzle 012–015, 180–200 bar) or air-atomised: max. 4% Thinner 22
• Touch dry 30 minutes; handle 1.5 hours; recoat 24 hours; fully cured 1 week (20°C)
• Water-based topcoats must be applied within 48 hours
• Theoretical coverage 10 m²/litre at 30 µm dry (100 µm wet)
• Apply in a dry, well-ventilated area; clean tools with Thinner 22
• VOC 570 g/l

Important

A reversible primer that dissolves in its own solvent (Thinner 22), so do not overcoat with paints containing stronger solvents such as xylene or toluene. Rust-Oleum advises an adhesion test before application. Degrease, sand intact coatings and remove zinc or aluminium corrosion with Surfa-Etch 108.
