Rust-Oleum Nr.1 Green Paint Stripper

Rust-Oleum Nr.1 Paint Stripper is a highly effective gel paint and glue remover for all paint types, made without methylene chloride.

Key features

• Removes oil and alkyd paints, emulsions, varnish and most two-component materials, plus glue
• Gel-like paste; can be applied from 0°C
• Contains no methylene chloride, NMP, acids, alkalis, biocides or conservation additives
• Does not affect metal, mineral or wooden substrates
• Available as tins (750ml, 2.5L) or a 500ml foam aerosol

How to use it

• Scrape off loose coatings first. Open tins carefully to release any pressure
• Tin: brush on thickly in an even layer (not with synthetic brushes); leave 10–15 minutes, then lift with a filling knife or scraper
• Aerosol: shake well, spray a uniform foam layer from 10–20 cm; leave at least 15 minutes, then scrape
• Thick layers of some two-pack products may need a second treatment
• Afterwards clean the surface (e.g. with ND14), rinse and let dry completely before recoating
• May affect plastics such as PVC and polystyrene – test first
• Use at 0–30°C, humidity below 85%. Keep away from flames, hot surfaces and welding
