Speed Screed is a pourable, durable and rapid way to smooth uneven, damaged or worn concrete floors, supplied with its two primers.
Key features
- Extremely durable, with high mechanical strength
- Foot traffic possible after 6 hours
- Low odour
- Applied from 3 to 15 mm thick
- Matt surface that is inherently anti-slip in dry conditions
Where to use it
A pour-on resurfacing material for uneven, damaged or worn concrete floors. When fully cured it can be cleaned with detergents or degreasers; do not expose to more than 60°C. Some contaminants can stain the surface, so painting is recommended for an easier wipe-clean finish.
Technical details
- A 25 kg pack covers about 3.75 m² at 3 mm, 2.25 m² at 5 mm or 1.13 m² at 10 mm
- Pot life 20 minutes; handle 6 hours; fully cured 24–36 hours (20°C)
- Compressive strength 29 MN/m²; tensile 5.2 MN/m²; flexural 7.7 MN/m²
- Ideal at 15–20°C with good ventilation; never below 5°C; above 25°C it can turn sticky and craze
- Clean tools with water before the product starts to cure
Preparation and use
Concrete must be at least four weeks old and free of loose material, soft laitance and contaminants; remove oil and grease with ND14 and rake out cracks. Dampen bare concrete with clean water 20–30 minutes before brushing on Primer 1; let it dry, then apply Primer 2. Straight away, pour the resin into the empty container and blend in the powder with a slow-speed drill and stirrer for 3–5 minutes. Pour onto the wet Primer 2, spread with a trowel, then work a spiked roller over each area 3–4 times from different directions within 20 minutes.
