The satin version of Zinsser's all-surface exterior paint, mixed to the shade you ask for. AllCoat Exterior Satin is water based and self-priming, and forms a vapour-permeable, low-maintenance, water-shedding coating on timber, metal, masonry, plastic, concrete and cladding.
It adheres to any sound surface, including existing gloss, with no sanding needed. The first coat primes and seals the surface; the topcoat completes the seal while adding moisture resistance and protection.
Why choose it
- Satin finish that resists cracking, blistering and flaking
- Stands up to rain and severe weather, with excellent colour retention
- Biocide protects the dried film against fungal degradation
- Recoat after just 1 hour; full adhesion and hardness in 7 days
- For most jobs there is no need to buy a separate primer
Suitable surfaces
New or previously painted wood, uPVC, galvanising, metals, cladding, weathered bitumen, stucco, brick, stone and cured concrete.
Specification
- Spread rate: 10 m² per litre per coat (up to 12 m² per litre on non-porous surfaces)
- Typical film thickness 40 microns per coat; volume solids 40%
- Touch dry 1 hour, hard dry 4 hours at 20°C and 60% RH
- Brush (synthetic bristle), roller or spray – airless .017" tip at 2000–2500 psi
- Application conditions: 10–32°C, humidity under 85%; avoid direct sunlight and keep a wet edge
- VOC 80 g/l; clean tools with warm water and detergent
Before you paint
Remove all mould, mildew, dirt and chalky residue, and any loose or peeling paint. Porous surfaces such as timber or masonry should have a moisture content no higher than 12%. Prime bare ferrous metal with an anti-corrosive primer; for new or unpainted cedar, redwood or other resinous timber, prime with Zinsser Cover Stain.
Not suitable for: exterior floors, decks or any surface subject to water immersion or prolonged contact with water; new (unweathered) Plastisol; bare PVDF cladding.
Choosing your colour
